Early this spring we were faced with many home projects including roofing, house painting, and chimney repairs, to name a few. It seemed as though this past winter had left us with a house that suddenly looked battered and tired. We love our 1840 colonial home in the village of Chester and wanted to do the best we could to restore the home’s curb appeal.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed about the cost and management of many projects, we decided to start investigating options for replacing the asphalt roof shingles. We were dreaming of replacing the roof with cedar shingles but were certain it would not be feasible. While searching the internet for roofing companies, Connecticut Roofcrafters stood out from the rest. We submitted a request for a consult via the website and received a response within a day directly from the owner, Michael Young. An appointment was made within a couple of days and Michael spent sufficient time to survey the scope of the project and answer all of our questions. Michael agreed that a red cedar roof would be the perfect look for the age of the home.

Still uncertain about the cost, we asked for a quote for both cedar and asphalt. A proposal was received within a week outlining all options. Michael was patient while we mulled things over and searched for other quotes. In the end, we chose CT Roofcrafters due to their responsiveness, professionalism, and reasonable cost. Michael’s crew was on the job within days of signing the contract, and the new cedar roof was installed in four and a half days! The crew was respectful, focused, and highly skilled in their craftsmanship. It was fascinating to watch them work with such perfection. The work site was left clean each day, and Michael checked in on-site regularly.

Being totally satisfied by the process and thrilled with the result, we decided the garage needed a cupola to “top things off.” Michael recommended a vendor and offered to return once the cupola arrived to install for us. Once again, his crew was here one day after the cupola arrived and meticulously fit the cupola to the roof. So this is a long story to provide a testimony to the outstanding experience we had with CT Roofcrafters. From this point on, we won’t have anyone else touching our roof!
